The AYSO Region 1103 Scholarship started as the Ruth Graft AYSO Scholarship. It is awarded to a high school senior that has shown sportsmanship and citizenship through volunteering. Ruth enjoyed watching her grandchildren play soccer. She attended as many matches as she could. She was able to see the great things that AYSO promotes, such as sportsmanship and the power of volunteering. Ruth passed away in December of 2015 from ovarian cancer. Ruth’s family hopes that whoever receives this scholarship continues to be a great role model for younger children and volunteer in their community. At the behest of the family, the name of the scholarship was changed in 2020.
