The 6U program will continue your child’s development with soccer. It is run in a more traditional format. Players will have a 30 to 60 minute practice session during the week, run by a coach and an assistant coach, with the support of a team parent.
Players will also have a scheduled game on game days, where they will compete against other teams in their division.
Game Play is 3v3, and an emphasis is placed on fun and active engagement. Coaches will double as referees on the field, and players on both teams get an opportunity to have fun and further refine the skills they are developing in practice.
Parents have the opportunity to make use of the skills, drills, and games they were taught in the Playground and Schoolyard programs, and along with some age appropriate Coach training, mold the future of these young competitors.
You are strongly encouraged, if your child is eligible, to participate in the playground or schoolyard programs first, for at least one season, prior to registering for the 6U program. Players are much more receptive and comfortable receiving instruction with the support of a mentor as provided in these other programs.
